PSM Projekt System & Management GmbH (PSM) is a project company specifically established for the PUMA infantry fighting vehicle project by KNDS Deutschland GmbH & Co. KG (KNDS) and Rheinmetall Landsysteme GmbH (RLS). Based in Kassel, PSM is the manufacturer of the PUMA and is responsible for coordinating development and production, as well as providing service at the site and factory. It is also the contractual partner for the German Armed Forces and international customers.

The first contract for the design of a new infantry fighting vehicle was signed in 2002 by the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr) with PSM. Since then, all 342 infantry fighting vehicles and eight driver training vehicles have been delivered. The Bundeswehr has continuously commissioned PSM to implement extensive functional improvements to the weapon system, which has been in use by the mechanized infantry since 2015. For example, 40 PUMA infantry fighting vehicles have already been modernized and delivered for VJTF 2023. A contract for the modernization of the remaining PUMA vehicles already in service was awarded to PSM in 2021. These will be gradually upgraded to the S1 standard, based on VJTF 2023, over the next few years.

Since 2015, PSM, together with KNDS and RLS, has been responsible for the use of the equipment by the Panzergrenadiers in the areas of maintenance and repair, including spare parts supply, technical and logistical support, and training materials, acting as the central point of contact.
