GARY
BUTLER
Gary Butler is the founder, chairman, and CEO of Camgian. He has spent two decades working in advanced technology with a specific focus in the area of sensor systems and technologies. During his career, he has led numerous DARPA and other government-funded programs to build next-generation intelligence, surveillance and recognizance (ISR) capabilities for the US military. Dr. Butler’s expertise is in the area of signal processing with a concentration in feature extraction algorithms and artificial intelligence (AI) based classification systems. His work in the field includes the invention of a novel neural network classification method that leverages genetic programming to intelligently adapt and retrain neural networks when operating in dynamic environmental conditions. His invention, Genetically Adaptive Neural Network Classification Systems and Methods (https://patents.google.com/patent/US7324979B2/en), is one of five patents that he has been awarded in areas related to AI, signal processing, low-power radar, and edge computing.
Since founding Camgian as a contract R&D firm, he has led its evolution into an award-winning technology company that services some of the world’s leading government and commercial organizations. Prior to founding Camgian, Dr. Butler was a division engineer in the Washington, DC office of Internet pioneer BBN Technologies (now Raytheon BBN Technologies) with a technical focus in the areas of artificial intelligence, machine learning, genetic algorithms, and wavelets and their application to real-time signal processing systems. At BBN, he worked on the development of feature extraction algorithms and neural network classifiers that supported advanced military sensing platforms. He was an engineering on the Army’s Future Combat Systems Program and led several DARPA funded efforts focused in the area of advanced intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance technologies. He was appointed by BBN’s president and chief scientists to membership in the Science Development Program, a technical rank reserved for the company’s most exceptional scientists and engineers and was also elected as a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. Dr. Butler earned his Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge in engineering where he was a member of Churchill College and studied modelling of non-linear dynamic systems and the application of wavelets to signal analysis.
Dr. Butler has been a speaker and panelist at numerous global technology conferences and testified on US competitiveness in the field of artificial intelligence before the US Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee. He currently serves as a member of the board of directors of Renasant Corporation (NASDAQ: RNST), the Vanderbilt University School of Engineering Board of Visitors (previously as chair), the Young Presidents’ Organization, the Tulane Physics and Engineering Physics Advisory Board, and the Oxford and Cambridge Club of London.

MERCHANT
Danny Merchant is a 10-year veteran of Camgian and currently serves as Camgian’s Chief Technology Officer. While at Camgian, Danny has led over $30M in research and development programs including Prowl, a low-power radar used by the U.S. military for force protection, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance. As CTO, Danny develops Camgian’s technical product strategy while simultaneously ensuring a competitive advantage that is aligned with the company’s overall business objectives. For the alternative data market, Danny leads the approaches for using computer vision, deep neural networks, machine learning, signal processing, and data science to provide unique, high-value data sets to its customers.
Prior to joining Camgian, Danny served 20 years at Cypress Semiconductor as the Senior Director of CAD where he was responsible for the electronic design automation software and design methodology used to design all Cypress products. Danny managed geographically dispersed teams of more than 40 people, managed profit and loss centers, and had extensive experience negotiating multi-million-dollar software contracts.
Danny has a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Mississippi State University and is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering as a part-time student. Danny has been a member of the Mississippi State Electrical and Computer Engineering advisory board for more than 15 years.
DERRICK
SAVAGE
Derrick Savage is the Vice President of Prodiuct Development at Camgian. He spent nearly 14 years in various design and management roles in the Semiconductor Industry working for Cypress Semiconductor and has 3 issued patents related to ASIC design methodology.
Prior to joining Camgian in 2009, Derrick was the Senior Design Center Manager for Cypress’ design center located in Starkville, MS as well as the company’s manager of the worldwide Intellectual Property Development organization where he was responsible for several IP Centers of Excellence including IO’s, Memory Compilers, ESD, and Standard Logic Cell Libraries. Derrick has managed international, geographically dispersed teams of more than 20 people and managed profit and loss centers. Since joining Camgian, Derrick has managed and lead multiple DoD related R&D programs related to Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) and now leads the development of Camgian’s commercial business. Derrick has a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering from Mississippi State University.
MICHELLE
PARISI
Michelle Parisi is the Chief Financial Officer at Camgian. Building on 10+ years in financial management, Michelle manages financial planning and reporting and is responsible for contract administration. She also oversees recruiting and employee onboarding, and is a champion for Camgian’s culture and core values.
Prior to joining Camgian, Michelle was the Corporate Controller for SemiSouth Laboratories, a high-tech start-up formed to develop and manufacture silicon carbide electrical components.
While there, the company grew from less than 50 employees to over 120 and raised more than $60 million from investors. Prior to SemiSouth, Michelle worked as a Plant Controller for Holcim Cement, one of the world’s largest cement manufacturers. She served as an advisor to plant management, a leader for financial integrity, and ultimately a partner for uniting plant operations with corporate objectives.
Michelle began her career in accounting departments at various businesses ranging from medical supply distributing, to toy manufacturing, to telecommunications and gained a wealth of experience from the diversity. Michelle is a CPA with a Bachelors Degree in Economics from Mississippi State University and an MBA from Mississippi College.

NAGARAJAN
Muthu Nagarajan is the Vice President of Engineering at Camgian. He has more than 20 years of experience in electronic circuit design primarily in the area of semiconductor integrated circuits (ICs). He has six issued patents related to semiconductor IC design and one issued patent in the area of IoT sensor networks.
Prior to joining Camgian in 2009, Muthu was the Member of Technical Staff at Cypress’ design center in Starkville, MS where he worked on several IC design projects. He has translated his deep understanding of circuit design into building robust and successful products in Camgian for both government and commercial projects. As Member of Technical Staff in Camgian, Muthu has worked on several sensor related projects, architecting and designing hardware solutions to address the needs of the defense industry and the emerging Internet-of-Things (IoT) market. He was the system and design lead for Camgian’s first commercial product in the IoT space. Muthu has a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Mississippi State University.

TINGLEY
Kevin Tingley is the VP of Commercial Programs at Camgian. A Wall Street veteran, Kevin brings over 20 years of finance, sales, and business development experience to Camgian. His experience includes more than 15 years in the Capital Markets and Institutional Sales & Trading Industry. The majority of those years were spent at Goldman Sachs and as a partner operating Saratoga Capital, an institutional broker/dealer.
Tingley spent time as an NYSE and NASDAQ Market Maker for Goldman Sachs, before moving to proprietary trading, then institutional sales. A significant part of his time at Goldman Sachs and since has been focused in capital markets and institutional sales; working with hedge funds, pension funds, and mutual funds.
Kevin graduated magna cum laude with his BSM from Tulane University.

GOSNEY
Doug Gosney is the Vice President of Operations. Doug recently retired from the Air Force after serving for more than 23 years. His experiences include serving as Commander, 2d Operations Group, Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana and Commander, 69thBomb Squadron, Minot Air Force Base, North Dakota. Doug is a Command Pilot with over 3,300 hours in primarily the B-52H and T-38A/C aircraft- qualified as an Instructor and Evaluator in both.
He has deployed and/or supported numerous operations in defense of the United States. Doug’s most recent assignment was serving as the Wing Commander, 14th Flying Training Wing Columbus Air Force Base, Mississippi.
Gosney was a Defense Fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government and completed the Executive Development Programs at the University of North Carolina Kenan-Flagler Business School and the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL) Leadership Development Program. He also earned master’s degrees from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and Air University, and a bachelor’s degree from Utah State University.

FREEMAN
Jeff Freeman is the Vice President of Corporate Strategy & Government Programs for Camgian Microsystems and is responsible for the Defense and Federal government, commercial/industrial, and international markets. He recently joined Camgian after having served as the VP Business Development for Fincantieri Marine Group and Fincantieri Marine Systems, U.S. subsidiaries of Fincantieri S.p.A., the largest shipbuilder in the western world with 20 shipyards on four continents. Jeff was instrumental in significant business captures, including, Navy Littoral Combat Ship Sustainment Execution Contract, establishment of a new repair shipyard in Jacksonville, FL, and award of numerous concept and preliminary design contracts for the Navy and USCG. Prior to Fincantieri, Jeff was the Vice President for Homeland Security Programs at Leonardo DRS Technologies where he was instrumental in the company’s successful pursuit on the DHS Customs & Border Protection (CBP) Secure Border Initiative Network (SBInet) along with other successful company significant initiatives with the USCG, including the C-130 Maintenance Repair & Overhaul (MRO) contract.
Before joining DRS, Jeff completed a successful 20-year career in the Navy flying the P-3 Orion Maritime Patrol Aircraft, serving in four different patrol squadrons flying over 3,500 hours and was the VP/GM of his last command. Jeff also completed three tours of duty at the Pentagon on the Navy Staff, Naval Military Personnel Command, and Office of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. He also had the privilege of serving as a Defense Legislative Fellow for U.S. Senator Thad Cochran (R-MS) and completed his career working on the staff of the Assistant Secretary of the Navy, Financial Management & Comptroller (ASN FM&C), Appropriation Liaison Office.
Jeff is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy (B.S. Mathematics/Operations Research) and achieved higher-level education including: Masters of Business Administration Degree (Financial Management) from Marymount University; National Security Studies Graduate Certificate from the Naval War College; and a Legislative Fellowship Certificate from Georgetown University.
