EID’s Intercom systems are the optimal solution for vehicular, shelter-based or specific maritime applications, enabling intercommunication among crew members and allowing access to radio equipment that provides voice and data communications, whether it be over the air, wire or ruggedized fibre optic cables.
Personal wireless systems are also available; this means a crew member outside the vehicle can communicate with the on-board crew and even communicate through the radios installed inside the vehicle.

EID supplies the entire C4i solution for the new Multipurpose Vessel of the Portuguese Navy
EID has signed a contract with Damen Shipyards Group of the Netherlands, for the communications systems to be placed on board of the Portuguese Navy´s new MultiPurpose Vessel (MPV), built by DAMEN. This contract is not only for the Integrated Communication System (ICS), but also, for the first time, for the supply of the ship’s entire network.
The new generation ICS, completely developed, produced and supplied by EID, is designed to improve the efficiency and safety of communication operations on board naval vessels. The system, which benefits from a modular and flexible design, can be efficiently adapted to a variety of operational scenarios as and when needed.
In addition, EID will also be supplying for this project the underwater telephone (UWT) from the German company ELAC, one of Cohort’s other subsidiaries.
EID and DAMEN, who have been growing an excellent relationship over the past 20 years, are very positive that this project will be the latest example of their continuing successful collaboration.
Martin Bennett, Executive President of EID states: “We are excited to continue our collaboration with DAMEN, and to partner again with ELAC, contributing to the modernisation and efficiency of Portuguese Navy operations. We couldn’t be happier with the opportunity of supplying the entire C4i solution for the exciting and ground breaking MultiPurpose Vessel project.“ And concludes by saying that: “I believe that these strong and solid partnerships will contribute to the continuing relationship of trust with the Portuguese Navy.”

Two new Philippine Navy LPD’s will have military communications systems made in Portugal
EID, the military communications systems company, has its system on board more than 50 ships in five Southeast Asian navies.
EID has secured a contract with the Indonesian shipyard PT PAL to supply two ICS systems for two new LPD’s that will integrate the Philippine Navy. This contract, together with an agreement signed in April for the delivery of two systems for Chilean Navy ships, demonstrates the Portuguese company’s position in the international market.
The ICCS, completely designed, produced and supplied by EID, aims to improve the efficiency and safety of communication operations on board warships. The system, which benefits from a modular and flexible concept, can be adapted to a variety of operational scenarios according to military requirements both in land and sea.
This contract secured by EID with PT PAL comes at a crucial time when the Portuguese company is looking to continue its expansion in Southeast Asia. With Indonesia representing the largest archipelago in the world, with the longest coastline in the world, this agreement is not only a renewal of the relationship between EID and PT PAL, which have enjoyed an excellent relationship for over 10 years, but also furthers future opportunities to collaborate.
“With these new ships, we can now count on our systems in Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore and Australia. Today’s contract with the Philippine Navy for the production of the systems at PT PAL’s shipyards demonstrates our commitment to continuing to develop solutions that meet the needs of our partners,” said Martin Bennett, Executive President of EID. “We are excited to continue our collaboration with PT PAL and the Indonesian Navy, contributing to the modernization and efficiency of their naval operations.”
