SRITEX was established out of a traditional trading company selling textile products under the brand “Sri Redjeki," located at Klewer Market, Solo, founded by H. M. Lukminto in 1966. Two years later, SRITEX build their first factory in Baturono, Solo to produce bleached and dyed fabric at the first factory in Baturono. The company went go-public in 2013, thus automatically changed its name to PT Sri Rejeki Isman Tbk.

SRITEX now is one of the largest vertically-integrated textile and garment manufacturer in Southeast Asia, with four production units: spinning, weaving, dyeing and garment. Headquartered in Sukoharjo, Central Java, SRITEX boasted a production capacity of 540 million meters of greige per year, 540 million yard dyeing and printing products, as well as 25 million pieces of ready to wear garment. As a group, SRITEX operates 24 spinning plants, seven weaving plants, five dyeing and finishing plants, and 11 garment plants with more than 50,000 employees.
In 2017, the SRITEX booked a net profit of USD68.03 million or increase by 14.60% compared to the previous year which amounted to USD59.37 million.
