49 % Cobalt Iron VACOFLUX and VACODUR
eVAC Magnetics
49 % cobalt-iron alloys, such as VACOFLUX® and VACODUR®, are characterized by a high magnetic saturation of up to 2.3 T. Therefore, they are generally suitable for all applications where high flux density and minimum weight are required.
Our alloys with cobalt content of 49 % and 2% vanadium offer low coercivity and yield superior performance parameter for electrics motors and generators.
VACODUR alloys exhibit strength properties required for applications such as high speed rotating machines by using our recommended annealing temperatures.
Benefits
- Very high saturation polarization of 2.3 T
- Low coercivity down to 35 A/m (VACOFLUX 48)
- Very high yield strength up to 800 MPa (VACODUR S Plus)

Magnet Assemblies
eVAC Magnetics
Magnet Assemblies are permanent magnets which are bonded to other permanent magnets or a different carrier material.
The positioning of magnets with extreme precision and the very high forces associated with large-volume magnetized parts, make the assembling of magnet assemblies a challenging task. For this process we apply our extensive experience in the design and construction of assembly tools and our know-how in the selection of a suitable bonding process.
Benefits:
- Manual and automated assembly of high-precision magnet assemblies
- Encase of assemblies in stainless steel, glass-fibre or carbon-fibre reinforced containment systems, including the required layouts
- Installation and adjustment on customer site possible

VACODYM - Rare-Earth Permanent Magnets for Highest Energy Density Requirements
eVAC Magnetics
Neodymium-Iron-Boron magnets made of VACODYM® have the highest energy density available today. VACODYM alloys are anisotropic material grades.
Benefits:
- Up to ten times higher energy densities in comparison to ferrites
- Existing magnet systems can be improved
- New design principles are realized and new fields of application are opened
- New alloy classes can be used for working temperatures above 200 °C (depending on coercivity) and working point

VACOMAX - Rare-Earth Permanent Magnets for High Temperature Applications
eVAC Magnetics
Samarium-Cobalt magnets made of VACOMAX® have particularly high coercivities with simultaneous high saturation polarization and excellent temperature and corrosion stability.
Benefits:
- Suitable for high temperature applications (depending on alloy up to max. 350 °C)
- High corrosion resistance against aggressive media
- Usually no coating necessary
- Low decrease of magnetic properties with increasing temperature due to high Curie temperature

VACOFLUX X1 - Specifically Developed and Optimized for Electric Motor Applications
eVAC Magnetics
VACOFLUX® X1 was specifically developed for the use in electric motor applications and to close the gap between silicon-iron and 49 % cobalt-iron alloys. Motors using the 17 % cobalt-iron alloy VACOFLUX X1 will be considerably better performing than with electrical steel, however they will also be considerably cheaper than motor designs based on 49 % cobalt-iron.
Benefits:
- High saturation polarization
- Reduced cobalt content compared to 49 % CoFe material
- Optimized for stamping & interlocking
- Strip thickness down to 0.1 mm (stamped) and 0.2 mm (interlocked)

Lamination Stacks
eVAC Magnetics
Lamination stacks are packages of individual sheets separated by electrically insulating layers to suppress eddy current losses under dynamic magnetic loading.
In-house manufactured cobalt-iron or nickel-iron strips in combination with adjusted production technologies are offering optimum stack solutions with respect to performance and costs.
These parts are mainly used as stators and rotors in electric motors and generators but also as laminated cores.
Benefits:
- Best-in-class cobalt-iron and nickel-iron laminations down to 50 µm strip thickness
- Unique integrated production control from raw material to ready-to-use stacks including automotive and aerospace certification
- Huge variety of stacking technologies for prototypes as well as for mass production
- Customized solutions to ensure highest performance and best value
