In the heart of what is known as the "wild hundreds" on the south side of Chicago, Darell "Dee Best" Bester discovered his passion for creation. Growing up in the Roseland community, Dee's vivid imagination found solace in the streets that molded him. With a life full of creative moments in music as a recording artist/producer, to receiving a degree in cinematography, Dee's life was always engulfed in presenting an amazing story.

Life took an unexpected turn in 2023 when health challenges, culminating in a heart attack, reshaped Dee's perspective. While pursuing a new career in cannabis, the stress of his many roles in the space took its toll on him. He was at a crossroads once again in his life and he knew he had to do something that would change him or die.

Fueled by resilience, he set out to create something that would bring people together, especially after realizing first hand that life is short. The one thing Dee truly enjoyed besides creating memorable times with great people, it was having a nice spirited drink to share with friends in these moments. So, with the help of his good friend master distiller Noel Garcia, he began to craft a spirit that mirrored his tenacity. Since he had to change a lot of the bad habits he had indulged in over time, he decided a healthier elixir that could retain its bite, yet embrace the health benefits of grains, would be a special spirit that could be crafted.
