Lumir specializes in developing and manufacturing Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellites for Earth observation and plans to deliver ultra-high-resolution SAR data and information services worldwide. It will provide End-to-End SAR solutions, including satellite development, ground systems, data services, and AI-powered analytics.
Lumir is developing LumirX, a 100 kg-class, small SAR satellite that captures ultra-high-resolution images at 0.3-meter resolution for Earth observation. LumirX launches will begin in 2026 to establish a constellation of over 18 satellites by 2030.
Established in 2009 by Dr. Nam Myeong-ryong, who has 30 years of experience in the satellite industry, Lumir has contributed to numerous national space development programs and secured many contracts for key satellite components and payloads in various national satellite projects. Lumir has developed its technology across both the NewSpace and OldSpace sectors.
