I am on a mission to eliminate unnecessary pain. While practicing medicine as a pediatric emergency physician, I founded Pain Care Labs in 2006. I was distressed by indifference to needle pain, which led to the launch of Buzzy, a device that can help with needle fear and pain — and which has now been used in more than 45 million procedures. I stopped practicing medicine in 2016 to focus on research and innovation, including alternatives to prescription drugs for lower back pain.
