About
HAIX - quality with family tradition
Tradition and high-tech – does that go together? Fits like a glove! Or like HAIX shoes on the feet of heroes. Everything started very small. More than 70 years ago, company founder Xaver Haimerl added the X of his first name to the first three letters of his last name and began manufacturing hiking and work boots in Mainburg, Bavaria. In 1992, his son Ewald Haimerl developed the first leather fire service boot.
HAIX has developed from a local shoemaker's business into a global player. Today the company is one of the most innovative and successful high-tech shoe manufacturers in the world.
The HAIX corporate strategy is deeply rooted in its Bavarian homeland. The important Research and Development departments – the creative workshop for shoe development – are based at the main headquarters in Mainburg. The shoe specialists and engineers develop the latest trends and functions in state-of-the-art research and testing laboratories. Part of the production is also located at the company headquarters.
In the EU member state of Croatia, HAIX laid the foundation for one of the most modern shoe production facilities in the world at an early stage. Around 1,300 employees have been manufacturing HAIX functional shoes of the highest quality since 2009, where the big brands of the sports world once had their high-tech products produced.
Since 2003, the HAIX North America sales office in Lexington, Kentucky has been supporting expansion on the American market.
HAIX employs 1,700 people worldwide and produced around 1.52 million pairs of shoes in 2021.
Whether in Europe, America, Asia - wherever absolutely reliable footwear is required - the high-quality shoes from HAIX have become indispensable companions.
