AIA was founded in 1919 – shortly after the birth of flight – as the Aeronautical Chamber of Commerce of America to foster, advance, promulgate and promote aeronautics. We’re also investing in the education and recruitment of the next generation of scientists, engineers, and mathematicians through innovative programs like The American Rocketry Challenge, the world’s largest student rocketry competition. Whether by working for better policies or empowering a new and innovative workforce, AIA will continue to strengthen U.S. leadership in aerospace and defense for the next 100 years and beyond.
