About
The International Trade Administration (ITA) strengthens the competitiveness of U.S. industry, promotes trade and investment, and ensures fair trade through the rigorous enforcement of our trade laws and agreements. ITA works to improve the global business environment and helps U.S. organizations compete at home and abroad
ITA is organized into three distinct but complementary business units:
Global Markets — The U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service, our regional and country experts, and specific trade promotion programs provide to U.S. firms the full suite of country-specific export promotion services and market access advocacy, while promoting the United States as an investment destination.
Industry and Analysis — Combines ITA’s industry, trade, and economic experts to advance the competitiveness of U.S. industries through the development and execution of innovative international trade and investment policies and promotion strategies.
Enforcement and Compliance — Enforces U.S. trade law and ensures compliance with trade agreements negotiated on behalf of U.S. industry. This unit supports and interacts with the President's Interagency Trade Enforcement Center.
