As CEO of Huntsville International Airport/Port of Huntsville, Butch Roberts is responsible for the overall management of activities under the jurisdiction of the Port of Huntsville, including Huntsville International Airport, the International Intermodal Center, and the Jetplex Industrial Park, which are owned and operated by the Huntsville-Madison County Airport Authority. He received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Alabama in Huntsville and has worked for the Airport Authority since 1986 holding various positions within the organization. Mr. Roberts was appointed Chief Executive Officer on July 1, 2022. Mr. Roberts is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and is an Accredited Airport Executive (AAE). He is a member of the American Association of Airport Executives (AAE) and the National Association of Accountants. Mr. Roberts serves on the Board of The Aviation Council of Alabama. Mr. Roberts was appointed to the Alabama Space Authority in 2017 which was created to promote the research and development of new space exploration and Spaceport technologies.

Huntsville International Airport (HSV), located in Huntsville, Alabama, serves more than 1.47 million passengers annually with commercial air service to 14 nonstop destinations provided by legacy carriers American Airlines, Delta Air Lines and United Airlines, and ultra low-cost carrier Breeze Airways. HSV is an operating entity of the Port of Huntsville along with the International Intermodal Center, Jetplex Industrial Park and Huntsville International Spaceport, and four contract operations including Foreign Trade Zone No. 83, fixed base operator Signature Flight Support, the Four Points by Sheraton hotel and Sunset Landing Golf Course. The Port of Huntsville is governed by an Airport Authority with a five-member Board of Directors. Notable features at HSV include two parallel runways at 10,000 feet and 12,600 feet with a 5,000-foot separation allowing for simultaneous operations during instrument conditions.
