About
Safe, efficient and eco-friendly: these are the keywords for VoltAero’s Cassio aircraft design. Benefitting from 80-plus years of combined pioneering expertise, VoltAero is developing a truly unique airplane with electric-hybrid propulsion for safe, quiet, efficient and eco-friendly flight. Cassio aircraft will offer 3.5 hours of flight autonomy – enabling flight distances of up to 1,200 km.
Cassio aircraft will be built in three versions with configurations from five to 12 seats, each sharing a high degree of modularity and commonality. This family will provide a capable and reliable product line for regional commercial airline operators, air taxi/charter companies, private owners, as well as in utility-category service for cargo, postal delivery and medical evacuation applications.
VoltAero’s proprietary electric-hybrid propulsion system has logged more than 25,000 km since 2019, operating in its full 600-kilowatt power definition aboard the company’s Cassio S testbed airplane – performing flights on typical regional airline routes.
The first production version in process of certification is the Cassio 330, with five seats and powered by a 330-kW electric-hybrid propulsion system. This aircraft will be assembled in a purpose-built facility that has been completed this August at the Rochefort Charente-Maritime Airport in France's Nouvelle-Aquitaine region.
