In 2001, Mark Donegan was named president and chief operating officer of Precision Castparts, and in August of the next two years, he took on the roles of chief executive officer and chairman, respectively. As mentioned earlier, Donegan joined the company as a manufacturing supervisor in Portland in 1985.
