COTS M83526 Style – 6 CH Fiber Optic Cable Assembly

In addition to the emerging 4CH MIL-DTL-83526 solutions, OCC also manufactures a 6-channel version of the B shell-size MIL-DTL-83526/16 and MIL-DTL-83526/17. The Shell Size C TFOCA/16, /17 and /18 utilize standard MIL-PRF-29504/14 PINs and split sleeves captive to the removable Insert Cap, to provide 2 additional channels, for a maximum of 6. This innovative design enables 6-channel density within the same TFOCA/17 plug and TFOCA/18 receptacle bodies. Plug-to-plug assemblies are available in configurations of 2, 4 and 6 channels, fabricated with 2, 4 and 6 fiber military tactical cable. Receptacle assemblies are available in Jam Nut (TFOCA/17-C) or Flange Mount (TFOCA/17-C) configurations and accommodates a choice of MIL ST, COTS ST, SC, FC, LC or MT-RJ pigtails. These style fiber optic assemblies can only be sold to the United States Government or to contractors servicing the United States Government.

The OCC EZ-MATE family of hermaphroditic-style fiber optic connectors provides the most comprehensive solution for harsh, deployable mobilized communications systems. The EZ-MATE Interconnection offers the same proven technology used in advanced military communication systems coupled with a simplified interface capable of “blind mating.” With a variety of options, the EZ-MATE provides ruggedized connectivity in the most challenging environments.
Hermaphroditic connectors are designed for quick deployment and gender-independent connectivity, allowing the end user to unreel fiber cable without regard for male or female ends. In addition to the EZ-MATE’s user-friendly interface, the connector will resist extremely harsh mechanical and environmental conditions, including high vibration, fluid immersion, mechanical stress and thermal shock, and continues to operate under extreme tension loading when used with OCC tactical cable. Its ability to “blind-mate” is ideal for applications that require thousands of mating cycles. The enhanced Kevlar® retention system supports high cable tensile loading without loss of optical signal.
