Description
Safe Label System (SLS) is used in the perioperative area for safe and compliant syringe labeling to help reduce medication errors. The system meets international standards and ISMP Guidelines, including two that are recommended by 2025: (1) elimination of handwritten labels in perioperative/procedural areas and (2) include a machine-readable code (e.g. barcode) on all syringe and infusion labels. Safe Label System delivers even more value to this fast-paced area of the hospital, several of which help to meet additional goals of the ISMP. Safe Label System integrates with anesthesia drug carts, and as a medication is removed for preparation, its barcode is scanned on SLS. In real time, the system electronically verifies the drug name and concentration using visual and audible confirmations acting as a second set of eyes. As the syringe is being drawn up, a full-color, easy-to-read and ready-to-apply syringe label is presented. Not only does the workflow enhance medication accuracy and compliance, every label includes a barcode for integration with AIMS/EHR systems at administration to improve charge capture and documentation accuracy. Visit us to learn how the award-winning Safe Label System has helped to prevent more than 1.8 million medication errors globally in the world’s leading ORs, ICUs, PACUs, and beyond, making healthcare safer for everyone.
