Description
When conventional stamped methods may not be applicable, water jet cutting allows Phoenix Specialty to provide you with high quality parts in low volumes. Water jet cutting is the preferred method when the materials being cut are sensitive to the high temperatures generated by other traditional cutting methods.
No production tooling is required when manufacturing your water jet parts, which means no tooling charges or additional fees!
Part Types: Flat parts, from basic to complex shapes
Dimensional Accuracy…………………………….. +/- .003 ……………………………. +/- 0.0762mm
Thickness Range……………………………………. .010” to .500” …………………….. 0.254 to 12.7mm
Maximum part Envelope………………….……….. 15.00” x 15.00” ……………….. 380mm x 380mm
Practical part quantities……………………….…… 1-500 + PCS
Material Types…………………………………….… Aerospace Specialty Alloys; Nickel/Cobalt, Brass, Copper, Aluminum, Steel, Plastics
What is Water Jet Cutting?
Waterjet cutting is a manufacturing method used to cut metal parts using a high-pressure stream of water.
A benefit of the water jet is the ability to cut almost any type of material without interfering with its inherent structure, as there is no “heat-affected zone”. Minimizing the effects of heat allows metals to be cut without harming or changing intrinsic properties. Water jet cutting provides the ability of short runs and prototype parts, eliminating the need to make production tooling.
