Description
Arquus unveiled the Drailer medium wheele, UGV at Eurosatory 2024, a platform displayed with a teleoperated Hornet 12.7mm turret as a combat platform but which is also being promoted as a casualty evacuation, cargo and surveillance platform.
Built around the chassis of a manned vehicle the platform, the company noted that the use of wheels over tracks was to enable it to be towed and to provide reduced impact on sensitive sensors and for great comfort in the transfer of injured personnel.
The vehicle can be deployed for infantry support missions, as well as various specialised missions such as engineering, electronic warfare, counter-drone operations, and very short-range ground-to-air missions.
It is equipped with a hybrid electric/diesel propulsion system which allows for quiet or silent operations or surveillance.
Drailer has a gross vehicle weight of 1,700kg, a payload capability of 700kg and a flat top space of 2.45mx1.6m.
The platform has an operational autonomy of 100km at 20km/h but this can be doubled with a range extender system and it has a stand-by time of 12h and again this can be doubled with a range extender system.
The vehicle has a top speed of 40km/h and a towed speed of 90km/h with a capability of handling a gradient of 50% and side slope of 30%.
