Elmhurst is a company founded in 1925 which started out as a cow milk producer and later on in 2017 transitioned to producing plant-based milk products with a Hydrorelease method, this method consists of using water to separate the natural components of a grain, nut, or seed before reassembling them as a smooth, creamy beverage, because of this method, these plant-based milks produced don´t need to be added emulsifiers or other ingredients to hold the product together.
This allows the products to keep the nutritional value of the grains, seeds and nuts, as well as, to having fewer ingredients that the competition. Additionally, this method is zero waste as it uses all parts of the grain, nut, or seed.
Elmhurst uses an aseptic packaging which consists of bottling the product into the container using high temperatures and hermetic sealing to create fully sterile beverages without need for preservatives and are shelf stable until opened, also the carton used for the packaging is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council and 100% recyclable in most US homes.

Using his grandmother’s recipes, Wick’s pies, especially the Sugar Cream Pie, quickly gained popularity. Just four years later, Wick was producing and selling 300 pies daily. To meet the growing demand, he established a new production facility in 1961, which introduced a nitrogen freezing process for shipping frozen pies. Located at 217 SE Greenville Ave in Winchester, Wicks Pies now produces 10,000 pies and 30,000 pie shells each day. The company remains a family business, with Wick’s children and grandchildren playing key roles in its growth and success. Today, Wicks Pies employs over 70 people, continuing the legacy of high-quality products and excellent customer service.
