Build It Right the First Time: Cadence Systems Design Tools Decrease Time to Market
Product development in the Aerospace world has not changed significantly since the inception of the airplane. Using a “build, test, fix” infinite do-loop that is dependent on physical prototypes, cost overruns, and schedule delays has become normal business practice. And those cost overruns and schedule delays increase proportionally as the new aerospace platforms and systems become more sophisticated. When challenged to do better, those within this ecosystem simply say, “Things have always been done this way.”
However, the companies that comprise 60% of the U.S. GDP have changed the product development cycle. Using today’s electronic systems design tools, they DO NOT build any hardware until they know the design will perform as required. This “Test and Evaluate Before You Fabricate” product development methodology, once exclusive to semiconductors, has now been expanded to include entire platforms. Today’s computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and mechanical modeling and simulation, coupled with state-of-the-art electron design analysis tools, have resulted in significantly reduced flight testing. This results in systems that delight customers by exceeding their expectations in terms of operation and sustainment costs and agile modernization.
We shall present the benchmark suite of these tools, allowing your company to be the first to market with “gotta have” aerospace products and systems.
