Navigation & Tactical-Grade Compact Inertial Measurement Units
Kearfott Corporation
Kearfott’s Next-Generation Inertial Measurement Units (NxIMU) incorporate the most advanced sensor technology and innovative packaging for industry-leading size, weight, power, and performance—addressing the navigation needs for a variety of sea, land, air, and space market segment applications. These monolithic ring laser gyro (MRLG) NxIMUs are ideally suited for applications requiring high performance for navigation, line-of-sight stabilization, and flight control in a compact form factor. The NxIMUs are offered in two performance grades: navigational or tactical.
The NxIMUs consist of Kearfott’s patented three-axis MRLG, three Kearfott force-rebalanced pendulous accelerometers, and electronics in environmentally sealed housing. Utilizing MRLG reduces the number of piece parts, weight, and volume compared to a system using three single-axis gyros. These NxIMUs meet FAA DO-178C Level A and DO-254 Level A, as well as military standards and/or service airworthiness certification.

Control Stick Assembly
Kearfott Corporation
Built on Kearfott’s extensive expertise in designing and manufacturing advanced position sensors and controls for aerospace and defense applications, the CSA delivers unmatched performance and reliability.
CSA Benefits:
• Low cost
• Lightweight
• Highly reliable
• Proven Kearfott position sensors
• Adaptable design for any interface
Precision and Performance
Each Kearfott CSA offers integrated damping, centering feel force, and position feedback, enabling pilots to execute precise pitch-and-roll commands intuitively.
Optimized Position Feedback
The CSA features 6 channels (3 per axis) of high-performance Kearfott Variable Differential Transformer (VDT) position sensors. Rotary or Linear sensors (RVDTs and LVDTs) are selected based on system requirements. Sensors are integrated with channel-to-channel separation to provide the highest level of redundancy. Additionally, alternate position feedback options and adjustable channel counts are available to meet specific system requirements.
Pilot-Preferred Centering Feel Force
Kearfott engineers collaborate closely with pilots to optimize the variable force profile for each application. The cam-based centering mechanism, with adjustable gradients depending on deflection direction, offers limitless profiles. It ensures a low-backlash solution, independent centering for each axis, and a flexible design that accommodates diverse human factors.
Ultimate Flexibility
Kearfott gives you the flexibility to integrate your own grip or choose a complete solution with a custom grip design tailored to your needs. The Kearfott CSA is a cost-effective, lightweight, and highly reliable, passive solution for both military and commercial fly-by-wire aircraft.
