AMG-3™ Assault Machine Gun
FightLite Industries
The New FightLite® AMG-3™ (Assault Machine Gun) is a lightweight, air cooled, gas-piston/pusher-rod operated, Dual-Feed®, Automatic Weapon that operates reliably with both M16 rifle magazines and M27 linked ammunition common to the M249 SAW. It functions in both semi-automatic and full-automatic modes of fire permitting the user to selectively engage the enemy with precision or suppressive fires as needed. The gas-piston operation directs most of the propellant gases and fouling forward and out of the muzzle allowing the AMG-3™ to remain less fouled in adverse conditions and during extended periods of use.

Unlike typical belt-fed platforms, our newest member of the AMG family features a unique left-to-right side opening feed cover. This addition is not only more robust, but also allows for a full length, co-planar 1913 picatinny top rail. This immense amount of unrivaled real estate is ideal for the addition of lights, lasers, optics, magnifiers, and thermal or NVG units in any combination, without the placement limitations of a typical top opening feed cover. The AMG-3™, like all FightLite® Belt-Feds, retains a True Quick-Change barrel that can be swapped by the user without tools in as little as 3 seconds. AMG-3™ barrels are available in 12.5”, 16.25” and 20” inch lengths for both heat mitigation and maximum mission flexibility - from suppressed CQB to wide open terrain.

The AMG-3™ boasts a 50% weight reduction over the M249 SAW allowing users to be faster, less fatigued and more agile during aggressive and highly dynamic combat operations. Sound suppressor and grenade launcher capable, the AMG-3™ is designed for a lifetime of hard use and is simple to maintain in the field without tools or special equipment. And for decreased training time and reduced logistical footprint, the AMG-3™ shares significant ergonomics and part commonality with the infantry rifle making it easier to support in the field.

Precision manufactured in the USA from high-strength aerospace alloys; the compact and portable Assault Machine Gun provides an individual operator with an unprecedented combination of swift mobility and accurate, decisive firepower during high speed combat operations.

Hermetic Connectors
Glenair
Hermetic connectors are a special class of sealed Mil /Aero interconnect that incorporates glass-to-metal or other highly-engineered sealing technology. Hermetic seal connectors are specified for applications as divergent as submarines and orbiting satellites. They are deployed to resist moisture ingress in underground applications and to withstand pressure differentials in vacuum chambers, laboratory equipment and commercial and military aircraft.

Hermetic seal connectors, such as the MIL-DTL-38999 Series I, II, III and IV supplied by Glenair, are principally designed for use in military aerospace — in fact, the sealing requirement for connector hermeticity was originally driven by military electronic applications. But the products are equally at home in commercial applications such as oil-patch, logging equipment or medical devices.

BlackSky Secures Two-Year Gen-3 Early Access Agreement with New Gen-2 On-Demand Customer
HERNDON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- BlackSky Technology Inc. (NYSE: BKSY) secured a two-year Gen-3 early access agreement with a new international customer that initiated a Gen-2 On-Demand contract in January. The rapid expansion commitment illustrates the tremendous operational value and growing demand for combined Gen-3 very high-resolution imagery and Gen-2 low-latency, high-cadence dynamic monitoring services.

"BlackSky continues to be recognized as a trusted mission partner in helping our global customers quickly scale their advanced national space capabilities and become among the first to acquire early access to Gen-3,” said Brian O’Toole, BlackSky CEO. “Existing On-Demand customers are quickly realizing how the immediate availability and powerful, comprehensive tip-and-cue utility between our Gen-3 and Gen-2 systems delivers a critical real-time decision advantage for daily military and intelligence operations.”

The proven on-orbit operational and technical heritage of the Gen-2 constellation has been leveraged into the design and operations of Gen-3. Gen-3 satellites generate high-cadence, time diverse 35-centimeter imagery that enables automated identification and classification of a wide library of vehicles, aircraft, vessels and other objects of military interest, enhancing the value of BlackSky’s current Gen-2 dawn-to-dusk dynamic monitoring services.

“As we integrate more and more Gen-3 satellites into the fleet, our early access customers will experience unparalleled reliability and quality of imagery at industry-leading speeds in support of the full range of strategic to tactical ISR missions,” said O’Toole.

On-Demand services provide flexible, subscription-based access to global satellite imagery and AI-driven analytics. The service is ideal for operations where responsiveness is paramount, with access to immediate tasking, multi-sensor data fusion and mission-ready insights when and where a customer needs them.

BlackSky Signs Seven-Figure Space Domain Awareness Expansion Contract with HEO
HERNDON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- BlackSky Technology Inc. (NYSE: BKSY) signed a seven-figure Gen-2 space domain awareness expansion contract with HEO to provide fully-automated low-latency non-Earth imaging (NEI) services for defense, intelligence and commercial use. The imagery data services deal is now moving into its fourth phase after completing the automation of the entire tasking-to-delivery process.

As part of the contract, HEO’s software platform will autonomously identify imaging opportunities and task BlackSky’s high-resolution Gen-2 satellites to detect, track, characterize, and classify objects in orbit, as well as assess potential threats and predict their effects. BlackSky's high-cadence imaging satellites fly in mid-inclination orbit and are expected to increase the feasibility of capturing NEI data over the middle latitudes of Earth, at certain times and places. The rapid tasking and delivery of NEI are expected to support critical space domain awareness applications, including constellation monitoring and anomaly detection.

“BlackSky has the ability to leverage remaining capacity typically associated with satellites passing over the ocean or satellites in eclipse, traveling across the dark side of Earth. Customers can now use that excess capacity, with a high-quality user experience, to monitor objects in space with no humans in the loop,” said O’Toole.

"Achieving true space awareness is going to require levels of inspection platforms across orbits, ready to capture imagery at a moment’s notice and HEO is building exactly that," said Dr. Will Crowe, Co-Founder and CEO of HEO. "BlackSky’s high-resolution satellites and automated capacity give us eyes in mid-inclination orbit, turning downtime into an intelligence goldmine for operators who need to know what’s happening around their assets, when it happens.”

HEO added BlackSky’s constellation into its current NEI sensor network in 2024. Customers can now request NEI products through HEO’s automated tasking and delivery platform, HEO Inspect. Once collected, BlackSky Gen-2 NEI and metadata are transferred into HEO Inspect where object detection and identification algorithms generate advanced analytics reports that include information such as a satellite’s attitude and location, subsystems identification and pattern-of-life analyses.

“BlackSky’s high-resolution Gen-2 high-cadence monitoring constellation continues to contribute valuable insight for space domain awareness,” said Brian O’Toole, BlackSky CEO. “As on-orbit activities continue to increase, global monitoring efforts are expanding beyond terrestrial intelligence to include space intelligence. Automatically tasking and receiving NEI products reflects yet another pioneering innovation that gives customers reliable and actionable insight about spacecraft or on-orbit objects of interest at mission speed.”

BlackSky Wins NGA Luno A Delivery Order for AI-Enabled Change Detection
HERNDON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- BlackSky Technology Inc. (NYSE: BKSY) won another National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) Luno A delivery order for automated general change detection. This foundational space-based analytics award leverages BlackSky’s proprietary computer vision and other AI capabilities to identify areas of change caused by human activity.

“This Luno A award underscores the maturity and quality of BlackSky’s in-house AI capabilities in meeting the NGA’s stringent requirements for commercial space-based analytics services,” said Brian O’Toole, BlackSky CEO. “BlackSky's ability to automatically detect anomalies and significant events at machine speed and global scale play a critical role in shaping important strategic national security, policy decisions or military operations.”

Under this order, BlackSky will use its very high-resolution Gen-3 and high-cadence Gen-2 imagery plus other commercial sources of data to identify areas of the Earth that have experienced change caused by human activity. BlackSky’s automated detection algorithms will monitor anomalies in real-time and report changes in natural resources, climate, infrastructure development and economic and military activity.

"The Luno A program aligns well with BlackSky’s strengths as a software-first company as we develop and deploy novel proprietary AI solutions and techniques that efficiently manage large volumes of data, generate insights and develop predictive analytics,” said O’Toole. “In addition to monitoring for known, well-documented phenomena, BlackSky is uniquely suited to discover uncharted patterns of interest over newly mapped areas of the Earth.”

BlackSky monitors over more than 30 million square kilometers of the Earth’s surface for the NGA. In October, NGA selected BlackSky for the five-year, up to $290 million Luno A multi-award indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract to monitor global economic and environmental activity and military capability using high-cadence, rapid revisit satellite imagery and AI-driven change-detection analytics.

Edge Shot Advantage in Ballistic Shields
Much attention is paid to the level of ballistic protection in armor – particularly against rifle rounds. What is often missed when assessing ballistic armor is the edge shot protection – whether a bullet that hits 2″ (50mm) from the edge of a rifle shield or body armor plate will be stopped. Current US ballistic standards deem any shot within this outer edge as an unfair hit.

For almost all conventional ballistic materials – steel, PE, Kevlar – the answer is No: a rifle shot 2″ from the edge will usually not be stopped. This is important – it means that the actual area of effective protection in a rifle shield or body armor plate – where a user can be confident that a shot will be stopped – is much smaller – often by 20 to 40%. This critical vulnerability means operators must rely on a significantly smaller protected area than the total shield dimensions.
