Introduction
Indirect type X-ray detector uses the scintillator and the photo-diode(CCD or CMOS sensor) for conversion of the X-ray into the light and for taking images espectively. But the light scatters and goes extinct during it passes through the scintillator and reaches to the CCD or CMOS sensor. As a result, it is inevitable to get blurred image.
In the mean time, XID C15DP, direct type detector, converts X-rays into electronic signals directly without conversion process of light. Because X-ray is not converted into light, it provides much sharper images than indirect type detector.
XID C15DP is designed to compact for easy installation. It provides Gigabit Ethernet port on the detector for easy configuration. Instead of Gigabit Ethernet, camera link or optical interface can be provided according to requirements of users.

Filling the weapons gap and increasing platform firepower
The U.S. Government’s only program of record for 2.75”/70mm guided rockets, our APKWS guidance kit transforms unguided 2.75-inch (70 millimeter) rockets like the Hydra 70 Mk 66 and others into precision-guided munitions (PGMs). Qualified on numerous U.S. Department of War (DoW) platforms, APKWS laser guidance kits provide affordable surgical-strike capability to multiple rotary-wing and fixed-wing platforms, as well as unmanned aerial vehicles, static and mounted ground platforms, and maritime vessels.
The APKWS system bridges the gap between unguided rockets and larger anti-armor munitions with commonality across the U.S. military services – Navy, Marine Corps, Army, and Air Force. The APKWS system consistently delivers pinpoint accuracy for the highest lethality available against soft and lightly-armored targets at a lower cost than other systems.
Greater strike range with unmatched precision lethality
With the category’s highest combat-proven hit rate, APKWS guidance kit equipped rocket consistently hit their intended target with pinpoint accuracy while limiting collateral damage. The guidance section is designed to lock onto targets from over 6 kilometers away, supporting survivability and mission success by keeping your launch platform at a safe standoff distance from threats. The guidance kit’s Single Variant Block Upgrade optimized flight trajectory so the rocket can hit targets at a steeper angle of attack for enhanced lethality.
Innovative by design, the APKWS kit includes advanced Distributed Aperture Semi-Active Laser Seeker (DASALS) optics located on all four guidance wings, which are protected by wing-slot seals prior to firing, avoiding adjacent fire damage that can interfere with a nose mount seeker. Once the rocket is fired, the APKWS kit’s wings deploy and the optics lock on to designated targets, guiding the rocket to the target – delivering accurate strikes and minimizing collateral damage when and where it matters most.
- Wing slot seals protect optics from adjacent firings, sand, and moisture prior to launch to ensure no damage or debris inhibit the seeker from locking onto targets
- Optics lock on to moving or stationary targets in open or confined areas, supporting a wide variety of missions, and reducing any chance of a lost or uncontrolled rocket after launch
- 40-degree instantaneous field of regard enables a broad capture area for the rocket to adjust mid-flight and stay on track to its target
Cost effective, easy to integrate, and more capable than ever
First put into production in 2008, the APKWS laser-guidance kit proved to be one of the most accurate, effective, and easy to implement systems in the world for converting unguided rockets into laser-guided rockets (LGR). Today’s system has also proven itself capable in air-to-air targeting of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and low-flying cruise missiles – as part of a counter-unmanned aerial system (C-UAS) – as well as in ground-to-ground lethality fired from launchers mounted on vehicles and remote weapon stations.
Mission and platform flexibility, as well as its light weight and low cost of integration, makes our APKWS system one of the most highly capable and useful combat weapons available to every department of the U.S. DoW and to U.S. allies. In fact, since its introduction, over 100,000 APKWS units have been sold for service worldwide.
Production-ready for high demand
APKWS guidance kits are readily available. Demand from the U.S. military and international governments is high, and BAE Systems is well-positioned to support that demand. Our state-of-the-art factories in Hudson, New Hampshire and Austin, Texas continue to produce and deliver with available excess capacity, supported by our robust supply chain, advanced manufacturing capabilities, and recent investments of over $100 million in infrastructure improvements. We offer a manufacturing capacity of at least 25,000 units per year, and are continuing to expand production.
With most of our supply chain in the United States, our centralized approach, and focus on delivering zero defects, we are optimizing overall production and delivery efficiency, which shows in our:
- Over 12 years in full-rate production
- More than 100,000 units delivered to date
- Proven ability to surge capacity, accelerating the delivery of over a thousand units ahead of schedule.

There are many factors which combine to produce this result. The most important fact is that the generator and engine are completely water-cooled.
No cooling air flow inside of the capsule is required. The advantage of having a generator on-board means that the power supply is not dependent on the vehicle engine and a more suitably sized generator can be used to provide the required power.
All Fischer Panda generators are renowned for being compact, light and quiet.
Customers can choose from various models

E-Scan Ground Surveillance Radar
The B400 series is BSS’s latest generation of e-scan ground surveillance radars (GSR). Blighter e-scan radars have no moving parts to wear out, maintain or replace and offer dramatic improvements in reliability over mechanically scanned radars. Blighter radars are all-in-one fully integrated units comprising antennas, signal processing, plot extractor, GPS and compass. Angular coverage is provided in modular units of 90°. Blighter radars are proven to withstand harsh environmental conditions and provide many years of maintenance free operation. The radar operates in all weather conditions and includes a built-in precipitation filter that suppresses false detections from rain or snow. Day/night 24-hour operation is fully supported.
Low-power FMCW Doppler Technology
Blighter radars incorporate a unique combination of FMCW and Doppler processing technology, ensuring unsurpassed ground clutter cancellation with the ability to detect incredibly slow movement. Radio transmission power is very low, making the radar safe for human operation and difficult to intercept (i.e. electronically covert). Power consumption is low, allowing operation from battery, vehicle or mains.
Wide Elevation Beam
In order to maximise long range detection performance, radars are typically mounted high on a tower or on top of a hill. However, when mounted in this way, the narrow vertical elevation beam of traditional radars results in the problem of ‘dead ground’ close to the radar. Blighter radars benefit from having a very wide vertical elevation beam, allowing them to detect targets in the distance as well as close-up simultaneously. In complex mountainous regions, the Blighter radar’s wide elevation beam also ensures that hill tops and valleys can be scanned simultaneously, without the need to physically tilt the radar. Over flat land and calm water, the wide beam also provides rapid detection of low flying manned and unmanned aircraft including planes, helicopters, UAVs, microlights and hang gliders.

A800 Mk 2 4D Multi-Mode Radar
The A800 Mk 2 inherits its core technology from Blighter’s TRL-9 (technology readiness level nine) field-proven A400 series air security radars. However, the A800 Mk 2 combines the ability to detect land and water-based objects, which of course may include the drone operator.
Countering Low, Slow and Small (LSS) Threats
The A800 Mk 2 acts as the key detect element in C-UAS (counter-unmanned aerial system) products. It is designed to counter current low, slow and small (LSS) threats caused by the mis-use of commercial ‘hobby’ drones. (Including the commonly used ‘DJI Phantom’ style quadcopters, as well as larger winged drones.) To further enhance system performance, the A800 Mk 2 features smart microDoppler target filtering with AI target classification. This reduces false alarms from wildlife and helps improve the detection of multicopter and winged drones.
Ruggedised and Secure
The A800 Mk 2’s rugged e-scan design with zero moving parts, allows it to operate in harsh conditions of high or low temp. It comes with mounting options for:
Tripods and quad-pods
Land vehicles and trailers
Fixed towers and masts
For use in critical security projects, the radar is fitted with either an optical or copper based Gigabit Ethernet interface with built-in robust data encryption. A software developer’s kit (SDK) is available for download. The SDK allows system integrators to quickly upgrade their existing wide area perimeter security and C-UAS systems. Such systems can then make full use of the A800 Mk 2 radar’s advanced long-range detection features. The A800 Mk 2 connects with the leading industry standard PSIM (physical security information management) platforms and defence C2 (command & control) systems through the BlighterNexus Hub.

At the heart of the GlobalEye system is the Bombardier Global 6000/6500 aircraft, a Canadian-built platform that delivers long range, high endurance, and superior performance at all altitudes. Saab’s proposal leverages this proven platform with a suite of cutting-edge sensors and mission systems, offering the Canadian Armed Forces a highly capable, cost-effective, and sovereign solution.
A final notification process to complete the procurement will now follow. The DGA has stated that a contract is expected to be finalised in the coming months. The parties have not yet entered into a contract and Saab has not yet received an order for GlobalEye from France.
The signing ceremony was held on August 12 at the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Seoul, during the “Korea-Vietnam High-Level Industrial Cooperation MoU Signing Ceremony”, witnessed by South Korean Prime Minister Minseok Kim and Vietnam Communist Party Secretary To Lam. The event was attended by Jinmo Lee, CEO of Airbility, and Trần Kim Chung, Chairman of CT Group, with Philip Park, Co-CEO of KILSA Global, serving as guarantor of the agreement.
Through this cooperation, the two companies will jointly pursue:
Co-development and commercialization of high-speed eVTOL-based UAV platforms
Implementation of AAM technology demonstration projects
Establishment of exclusive distribution networks in Vietnam and key Southeast Asian markets
Joint operation of training programs to cultivate specialized talent, including pilots and maintenance engineers
Detailed execution will be handled by CT UAV, a subsidiary of CT Group and the largest UAV manufacturer in Vietnam, with extensive experience supplying aerospace solutions to both public and private sectors. Under this partnership, CT UAV will produce 5,000 UAVs, including Airbility’s AB-U60, under an OEM model, while taking responsibility for distribution, sales, marketing, customer support, and maintenance.
Airbility plans to leverage this partnership to expand the use of UAVs in Vietnam across high-value applications such as medical, express logistics, and security services. The company will verify product competitiveness through demonstration projects before expanding its business across the ASEAN region.
This partnership was facilitated by KILSA Global, a global business-building company specializing in Southeast Asia. KILSA Global will continue to support Airbility and CT Group in AAM commercialization, including the promotion of demonstration projects and expansion of distribution networks.
Jinmo Lee, CEO of Airbility, stated:
“This collaboration marks a turning point where Korea’s high-speed eVTOL technology is applied directly in the Southeast Asian aviation industry. By combining CT Group’s manufacturing and market-building capabilities with Airbility’s technological expertise, we aim to establish a new global cooperation model to lead the AAM market.”
The Electric Ducted Fan (EDF) is a core device that generates thrust for high-speed eVTOL aircraft. Until now, such fans had to be imported at high cost from countries like Germany and the United States for integration into aircraft. With this project, domestic design and production will become possible, paving the way not only for reduced aircraft manufacturing costs but also for strengthening the foundation of technological independence in Korea’s aviation industry.
The research team aims to design an 80 kW-class EDF for a next-generation 1.3-ton vertical take-off and landing aircraft, while producing a scaled-down 15 kW prototype for ground testing and flight evaluation. By first verifying performance and safety with the smaller model, the team plans to expand development toward full-scale, large components.
Airbility has already accumulated experience in aircraft integration through its self-developed “AB-U60” unmanned VTOL aircraft. With this localization effort, the company aims to secure core components with domestic technology and present its vision for building a fully domestic aviation solution.
Airbility’s Deputy CEO Minyoung Ahn stated, “The ducted fan is not just a component but a core technology that determines aircraft performance, noise, and efficiency. Through this research, we aim to reduce dependence on overseas suppliers and strengthen our competitiveness in the global eVTOL market.”
Airbility, a company developing both manned and unmanned eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing) aircraft based on electric tilt fan-jet technology, plans to utilize this newly introduced technology to extend the flight time of its medium-sized UAVs and significantly enhance their performance in diverse mission environments.
The 7kW-class hybrid power system included in this transfer combines traditional internal combustion engine power with an electric propulsion system. The technology was developed to improve flight duration and fuel efficiency. Through this integration, Airbility aims to dramatically improve the performance of its existing eVTOL UAV platforms. In particular, the company will focus on enhancing operational efficiency in long-range missions and heavy cargo transport, while also ensuring a stable power supply system in emergency situations.
Hyunsoon Kim, CTO of Airbility, stated, “This technology transfer has laid a strong foundation for the development of an efficient hybrid power system,” adding, “We will focus on advancing and commercializing hybrid technology to overcome the limitations of traditional electric propulsion systems and develop customized solutions that can be applied across various industrial sectors.”
Meanwhile, Airbility intends to further strengthen its position in the global advanced air mobility market through this technology acquisition. When the expo resumes Monday, June 16, a team from Integris Composites will be among 2,500 exhibitors from 48 countries presenting to as many as 300,000 visitors. Although Integris operates a facility 300 miles away in France, its U.S. delegation will emphasize domestic capabilities, its U.S. base and U.S. government credentials for innovating aircraft armor and survivability solutions in today’s evolving combat environment.
The Integris team will participate alongside a cluster of Ohio companies assembled by the French American Chamber of Commerce Ohio. Integris, which operates its technical center and major U.S. manufacturing hub at its Licking County facility, accepted FACC Ohio’s invitation as a gold sponsor to help promote the state’s aviation capabilities at the air show.
“We are a global company with a deep pool of design and engineering talent on both sides of the Atlantic, providing aerospace survivability solutions worldwide,” said Andrew Bonham, president. “But U.S. military specifiers and defense contractors need to source domestically. We’re here at Le Bourget to reinforce Integris’ U.S. roots and highlight what we’re calling ‘Accelerated Innovation” — our ability to generate targeted solutions faster than anyone else in the armor business. We’re proud of our achievements and of our growing partnerships with prestigious multinational defense contractors.”
In just over three decades, Integris Composites has earned tier-one supplier credentials with original equipment manufacturers like Airbus Helicopters and Embraer and prime defense contractors globally and in the United States, ”added David Cordova, chief commercial officer. Recent awards include contracts to armor the U.S. Army’s Future Long Range Assault Aircraft, Boeing’s MH-139 Grey Wolf and QinetiQ for the C-130J.
The Licking County facility in Hebron houses the U.S. technical design and engineering center and manufacturing operations. The company also operates a vehicle design center in Santa Barbara, California, and maintains corporate headquarters in Tysons Corner, Virginia, near the U.S. capital.
Formerly known as TenCate Advanced Armor until 2023, Integris Composites continues to lead in advanced materials and rapid prototyping for defense and sustainability.
“All of us at Integris are extremely proud to be part of the team behind this innovative rotorcraft that is ushering in what will become the U.S. Army’s new long-range assault aircraft ensuring our nation’s warfighters have the decisive edge in any theater where they are operating,” Bonham continued.
“We are pleased to include Integris Composites on the team for its protective armor capabilities for the FLRAA,” said Ryan Ehinger, senior vice president and program director for FLRAA, Bell. “Bell and the FLRAA team are committed to delivering not just more speed and range to our soldiers, but more survivability and reliability as well,” Ehinger stated.
A Storied Legacy
“Integris becomes a part of the latest chapter in the storied legacy of utility aircraft, a lineage that traces its roots back to the iconic Vietnam-era ‘Huey’ (UH-1 Iroquois) and the present-day UH-60 Black Hawk, which has faithfully served as the Army’s Utility Tactical Transport Aircraft (UTTAS) since 1979,” said David Cordova, chief commercial officer for Integris, Inc.
“FLRAA is a marvel of engineering that promises to redefine the boundaries of speed, agility, operational versatility/survivability,” Cordova observed.
Advanced Armor from Integris on Land, Water and in the Air
“This is the latest armor contract for Integris in the airborne segment,” added Bonham. “It’s an exceptional achievement for both the Integris organization as well as commercial partners, such as the team at QinetiQ Group plc.”
Cordova said Integris is supporting several other aerospace companies. “We provide armored kits such as the H-125, MH-139 as well as the C-130J this last one, in partnership with QinetiQ. But Integris is also providing high-performance, lightweight, fit-for-purpose composite military armor on the ground and in the water as well as in the air,” said Cordova.

Ballistic protection is primarily implemented in the cockpit walls, engine compartments, cabin and other vulnerable areas of the aircraft. In the cockpit, armor is essential to safeguard pilots against potential attacks, allowing them to maintain control of the aircraft even under fire. Engine compartments are also fortified to prevent catastrophic failures that could result from ballistic impacts.
Johann Basselin, Key Account Manager at Integris, sheds light on the company’s journey and capabilities in this niche market.
The journey of Integris in aerospace began with a pivotal opportunity with Eurocopter (now Airbus Helicopters). The company needed armor for their new NH90 helicopter, marking the start of Integris’ aerospace division.
“We were selected and started our business with OEM as a Tier 1 supplier. This initial project laid the foundation for Integris to expand its aerospace capabilities and establish a strong presence in the industry,” Basselin recalls.
Integris faced numerous challenges as they adapted to the new aerospace contract requirements. The company had to familiarize itself with a plethora of new documents and standards unique to the aerospace industry. To ensure success, Integris collaborated with a specialized aerospace company in the Netherlands, DC, which provided invaluable support in areas such as integrated logistics support and documentation.
“We needed the support of a specific aerospace company, which assisted us in the beginning. This collaboration was crucial in meeting the high standards required for aerospace projects”, states Mathieu Vilaltella – Aerospace Project Manager.
Since then, Integris has leveraged its past experiences to streamline processes for new projects, This strategy has proven effective, allowing the company to efficiently manage and deliver on aerospace contracts.
The aerospace segment now constitutes a significant portion of Integris’ business.
Integris has provided ballistic protection for various aircraft, starting with the H135 from Airbus Helicopters. The company’s portfolio has expanded to include the NH90, H145, H225M (Super Puma), H175, and potentially the H160 in the future. Additionally, Integris has supplied ballistic protection for Leonardo Helicopters’ platforms such as the AW159, AW101, and AW169, as well as fixed-wing aircraft like the Super Tucano and the KC-390 from Embraer. The company also engages in retrofit business, updating older aircraft with new ballistic protection as needed.
An interesting facet of Integris’ aerospace work is their involvement in civil commercial aircraft protection. Following the events of September 2001, all commercial aircraft must have armor on the cockpit wall. Integris has been selected for the A350, and most A350 aircraft flying worldwide are equipped with their armor.
Basselin expresses optimism for future opportunities, stating, “We are convinced that based on our experience and track record, we will be able to further expand our footprint in the aerospace business segment and supporting customers with new qualifications on different platforms “
Integris’ aerospace capabilities are a testament to their ability to adapt and thrive in a complex and demanding defence industry. Their expertise and strategic collaborations have positioned them as a reliable partner in the aerospace sector, continuously pushing the boundaries of what is possible in ballistic protection for aircraft.
“This event signifies the culmination of a nine-year journey,” said Andrew Bonham, president of Integris Composites, Inc. “Our European business was previously established as a global aerospace supplier. In 2015, our U.S. management team set the goal of attaining Tier One supplier status with OEM aviation companies and U.S. Department of Defense decision-makers. By 2017, we achieved AS9100 certification, a vital credential for aerospace companies, ensuring compliance with stringent quality and safety standards,” Bonham explained.
“Then in 2018, Boeing awarded us a contract to develop and engineer the MH-139A armor system. Development, design, and qualification work with Boeing, and Research, Development, Test and Evaluation aircraft with the Air Force followed. Now, thanks to a follow-on contract with Boeing, we are manufacturing the armor kits for the production aircraft,” explained David Cordova, chief commercial officer.
Integris Composites, Inc. has become a credentialed Tier One supplier to aerospace original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and prime defense contractors. “Besides Boeing, we have contracts with Bell Flight, Airbus, Velocity Systems, QinetiQ, Battelle Memorial Institute, Mack Defense, American Rheinmetall Vehicles, and the Air Force Institute of Technology,” said Cordova.
“Achieving Tier One aerospace supplier status enhances our already strong business and solidifies our reputation as a trusted provider of ballistic armor systems for vehicles, aviation, and personnel. These systems offer critical protection for personnel operating in hostile environments such as warfighters, tactical security personnel and elite law enforcement units,” Cordova continued.
“Integris Composites produces the most advanced strength-to-weight-ratio in armor for military organizations throughout the world,” Cordova continued. Last year Integris Composites became the new name for TenCate Advanced Armour, a global company founded in Europe 30 years ago this year.
